John Morrison - President/Owner

While John is new to the business side of baseball, he brings a 20 year track record of operating successful enterprises as the co-founder and principal owner of Fosta-Tek Optics, a leading manufacturer of polymer optics for military, safety, automotive and electronics markets, employing 150 at their Leominster headquarters. Fosta-Tek represents one of the more notable turnarounds in the region as a successor in 1991 to the local operations of the Foster Grant Company.

John’s enthusiasm for the sport of baseball dates to his upbringing in the Minneapolis suburbs rooting for the Minnesota Twins in the late 1960’s and 1970’s. As a lifelong fan, John’s highlights include being on the winning side of the 1991 World Series games 6 and 7, being at Fenway for game 5 of the 2004 championship series, and seeing his Twins favorite, Kirby Puckett, inducted into Cooperstown.
 
John holds degrees from Middlebury College and the Tuck School at Dartmouth College; and resides in Acton, Mass. with his wife, Carolyn, and children Megan, Matthew and Katie; and dogs Bella and Riley.

Scott Lettre - Baseball Operations

Scott, a resident of Leominster, Ma., is a graduate of Franklin Pierce University. He is excited for the his second season as the head of Baseball Operations,  “I saw what a strong baseball community exists is this area last year, and I look forward to the opportunity to put a fun and family friendly experience in front of our home fans for our second season!"

On the baseball front, Lettre brings experience from the Lowell Spinners, where he supported the Public Relations activities and events in the community. During his summer with the Keene Swamp Bats, Lettre organized the community appearances for players and the mascot, supported the game day activities and implemented sponsor marketing programs. Lettre also gained valuable experience interning for the Worcester Sharks on their game day staff, and working in the League office of Major League Lacrosse.

Scott will be charged with coordinating the activities of game day staff and ensuring that Dirt Dawgs fans have a winning experience at Doyle.  Scott will also be active in the community with various marketing and outreach programs with players and staff.

Jon Williams - Athletic Trainer

Jon Williams MS, ATC, LAT resides in Lowell, Massauchetts. During the school year he is an athletic trainer at UMass Lowell working with men's soccer and baseball.  Jon graduated from Quinnipiac University in 2010 with a bachelor's degree in Athletic training/sports medicine.  He previously worked as a graduate assistant athletic trainer the University of Mississippi where he graduated with a masters degree in exercise physiology in 2012.

 

Emily Bird - Intern

Emily, a resident of Lakeville, MA, is a current student at Fitchburg State University. Emily is majoring in Exercise and Sports Science with the concentration of Fitness Management. With the desire and passion to one day run her own fitness facility, she believes being part of the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs team will provide her with the knowledge to succeed in managing a company.
 

Emily’s passion for being part of a community and her outgoing personality will assist her in promoting the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs Team. She is very excited for the upcoming season and hopes this opportunity will help assist her in her future in Fitness Management.

Emily Ladroga - Intern

Emily Ladroga is a current student at the University of Massachusetts Amherst studying Sport Management at the Isenberg school of business. She hopes one day to be working with a major baseball or football team. Sports have always been a huge part of her life and she believes working with the Dirt Dawgs will help her understand the inner workings of a sports team.

With her sense of organization and commitment to get things done she will be able to work efficiently with the team. She hopes to gain experience through working with the Dirt Dawgs and a sense of what the sports world is really like. Although this is her first experience working and not playing in sport she is excited and cant wait to learn new things.
 

Erin Hanley - Intern

Erin is originally from Framingham, MA and she is currently a sophomore at Elon University in NC. She is majoring in Marketing with a minor in Sport & Event Management. Her dream career would be working in the marketing department for a MLB team. Erin is interested in learning more about the business aspect of a sports organization, which is one of the many reasons why she is so excited about this internship opportunity.

 

Erin’s love for baseball, strong work ethic, and attention to detail will allow her to contribute as much as possible to the Dirt Dawgs. This is Erin’s first summer with the team, and she cannot wait for the season to begin!

Janu Sonthi - Intern

Janu, a resident of Acton MA, is currently a student at American University. Janu is majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Management and a minor in Public Health. She believes that this opportunity with the Dirt Dawgs will provide knowledge about the daily operations and the inner workings of an organization, equipping her with the tools for a future career in sports.

 

Janu will use her leadership and organizational skills to assist her this summer, and let her passion for sports guide her in the future.  This is Janu’s first season with the team, and she is very excited for the upcoming season.

Kenneth Swain - Intern

Kenneth, a resident of Shirley, MA, is currently a student of Nichols College. A Sophomore, Sport Management Major, Kenneth is looking to further his career through sports. He believes that the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs will be able to give him that opportunity to improve his knowledge and experience in the sports world. At Nichols College Kenneth is already working for the Athletic Department for game day operations and is trying to expand his experience with game day operations.

 

He will use his previous experience with baseball and being an Eagle Scout to help him throughout the summer. Kenneth is very excited for the upcoming season and hopes to gain the experience that will be needed to prepare him for the future in sports. 

Megan Grondin - Intern

Megan, a resident of Worcester, Ma., is a current student at Clark University. A Junior, Management Major, Megan is looking to attend graduate school for Sports Management. She believes her involvement with the Dirt Dawgs will provide her with the knowledge and experience needed to succeed in the world of sports.

A member of the Clark Women's Basketball Team, Megan's passion for athletics will drive her commitment in assisting the Dirt Dawgs. She is very excited for this upcoming season and hopes to gain insight that will prepare her for a future in Professional Athletics Management.

Nick Balboni - Intern

Nick, a resident of East Longmeadow, MA, is currently a student at Fitchburg State University. Nick is majoring in Communications Media with a concentration in film and video production. He believes his experience with the Dirt Dawgs will be the perfect combination of his two passions, baseball and photography, and better prepare him for a future career in sports broadcast. 

A lifelong fan of baseball, Nick is excited to start the summer and ready to capture all the good times this summer will bring.

Peter Jakola - Intern

Peter, a resident of Leominster, MA, is a current student at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Peter is looking forward to helping build off of the success of the Dirt Dawgs inaugural season. He believes that the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs will be very successful due to the passionate baseball community in the Central Massachusetts area.

Peter, a sports enthusiast, is excited for the opportunity to work with the Dirt Dawgs and learn about the operations front of a sports team. This is Peter's first time working with a team and he hopes that this opportunity will provide him with the tools for a future career in the field of sports.

As a summer intern, Peter will be working on the game day staff and is also interested in getting involved with the media as well as the community outreach sides of the operation. He is excited for the summer to begin and looking forward to working with the team.

Zach Vaillette - Intern

Zach, a resident of Leominster, MA, is currently a student at the University of Vermont. Zach is majoring in Business Administration. This will be his first season with the Dirt Dawgs. He is excited to gain more experience in baseball operations with the Dirt Dawgs after interning last summer with the Harwich Mariners of the Cape Cod Baseball League.

Zach believes he will make a great addition to the intern staff because of his leadership skills and his love for sports, especially baseball. Zach hopes to one-day work in the front office of an MLB team and is excited for this summer.
